Police officers have been advised to seek professional counseling whenever they encounter challenges while performing their duties instead of committing suicide or murder.

Rosemary Kuraru, a police commissioner stationed a the Kenya Police headquarters, Nairobi said there should be no reason as to why a police officer should kill himself or another person.

Speaking at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral in Eldoret during a mass for the uniformed officers, Sunday, Kuraru reaffirmed National Police leadership's commitment towards addressing challenges police officers face.

"We have always been ready to help our officers whenever they face any challenge in their day to day activities and they should never fear coming out for help from us," noted Ms. Kuraru.

"It has been our advise that if they ran into problems they are always free to come to us for help. They also need to seek counseling instead of resorting to committing suicide or killing another person," she added.

This comes at a time there has been increased cased of police officers committing suicide or killing their lovers due to unknown reasons.
