Kenya Power in conjunction with the county government of Uasin Gishu have commissioned a rural electrification project at Segero.

The project, under the last mile electrification initiative, is set to benefit locals who formed a group where each contributed Sh15,000.

More than 67 residents benefitted from the project.

Speaking during the occasion, Kenya Power’s county business manager Bett Kimutai said that they have managed to install four transformers and urged residents to start economic activities enabled by availability of electricity.

“With the coming of electricity, we expect that your students will perform well in their education, there will be proper communication, our hospital will be upgraded with modern facilities and the revenue to our country will also increase. For those still waiting for connection, we will ensure you get connected,” said Bett.
