Form four leavers have been advised to be careful when choosing institutions of higher learning.
Catherine Ondabu an educationist and lecture at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Kisii Branch noted that not all institutions have the required facilities and lecturers to offer quality training.
She said some mushrooming colleges are out to make money at the expense of providing quality education and equipping students with required career skills.
“You should choose universities which have unique platforms and an initiative for empowering graduates with quality skills to become good job creators and innovators in future,” she advised.
She further added that top universities provide an opportunity to identify new productive companies created by the youth, citing Silicon Valley Technology Producers in USA which was identified using university’s incubation centers.
She told KCSE graduates to join renowned high-quality education institutions which guarantee more job opportunities after graduation.
“Students who graduate from good universities have higher chances of securing jobs or creating employment than those who graduate from low-quality institutions,” she added.
She further advised students to continue working hard so as to excel in their studies and score high academic grades that will enable them to join their preferred professions.
