Kisii County government has been urged to select days in a week to collect revenue at Keumbu Market instead of collecting every day.
According to Keumbu traders, Kisii county government collects tax every day in a week prompting a great loss when they conduct their business.
Addressing the media on Wednesday at Keumbu market, traders led by Roseline Mokua said there are some days they don’t sell although they give tax and experience a great loss and urged the county to select days to tax them instead of the 7 days routine.
“As businessmen here at Keumbu market we don’t make any profit we call upon the county government of Kisii to select days to collect revenue from us,” said Roseline Mokua.
They also urged the county to reduce the tax so that they can make a profit to grow and promote their business.
“We need our county to hasten the construction of Keumbu market because it taken long without completion,” said David Maina another trader.
