A Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) ranger is set to get a promotion after his selfless act of humanity towards a disabled school girl.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Tourism issued on Wednesday, Philip Wesa's act of humanity is a rare occurrence in the modern days and he thus deserves a reward.
The statement further added that they had recommended for his promotion at work as they seek for other ways to reward his kind gesture.
“It is such acts of altruistic sacrifice and great show of humility that give KWS, our disciplined forces and indeed our great Nation, the right image.
"We are absolutely proud of Wesa and highly recognize his efforts, plus the positive effect it had on Deborah, her fellow students, teachers and the entire country, ” read part of the statement by Mulea Muia, the ministry's head of communication.
Philip has melted the hearts of many online users and photos of him carrying the girl have been going rounds on social media.
Philip helped Debora Nyaboke climb up a hill in order to see the Chania falls in Aberdares National Park. This was after Philip learned from other students that Debora could not climb up the hill and he decided to carry her on his back.
Kenyans have been celebrating Philip on social media urging other officials and forces to learn from him and follow suit.
