Kenyan athletes can now breath with relief after the Senate on Thursday approved the Anti-doping Bill.
The bill is now awaiting President Uhuru Kenyatta's signature to become law.
The unity portrayed by the senators on Thursday is commendable as it saved the country's image on the international arena.
This was very crucial for Kenya which stands out as a giant in athletics.
The World Anti-doping Agency had given Kenya deadlines and the rest of the society who value and embrace sports wasn't sure of the future of the country's athletics field.
This comes shortly after the Uhuru assured that the matter would be dealt with and truly WADA has seen the commitment.
The likes of Benjamin Ayimba, the national sevens coach and the YouTube guy Julius Yego are now at ease.
The most important part of the bill is the unifying factor that sports bring to the country that is sometimes hurt by political bigotry.
Thank you members of the National Assembly and the Senate for the good work!
