Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago is set to appear before County Public Accounts and Investment Committee, Thursday, to answer questions related to expenditure of the county.
The governor failed to appear before the Senate committee, Wednesday, and instead sent his deputy, Daniel Chemno, who said Mandago’s absenteeism was due to unavoidable circumstances.
Chemno was however turned away by the committee as the House rules, only identify governors as the bosses of the counties.
Kiambu Senator, Kimani Wamatangi, who chaired the Wednesday’s session, warned Mandago that if he fails to appear before the Senators, then the committee would be left with no option but to consider an audit report without participation of the county.
