Through its vice chairperson John Lonyangapuo, the Senate watchdog Committee said the governor snubbed five previous summons.

He was supposed to shed light on the 2013/2014 County expenditure, following an audit report by the Auditor General, which indicated misappropriation of funds in the County government.

Committee members on Thursday morning accused him of issuing irrelevant excuses for not appearing before the Committee.

The move comes a day, after an impeachment motion against the governor failed to be approved at the Machakos County Assembly.

Mutua is accused of misappropriating County funds, and branding County-funded projects as his Maendeleo Chap Chap party projects.
