The Senators will also discuss a bill on party-hopping and another one electoral offences that was passed by members of the National Assembly last week.

Last week, Nyeri County Assembly MCAs voted to oust the county boss who now becomes the fourth governor to be recommended for impeachment.

Thirty-five of the 47 ward reps voted for his ouster, garnering a two-thirds majority.

According to the Standard, Nyeri County Assembly speaker had communicated the impeachment report to the Senate on Monday.

The impeachment motion had been tabled amid previous unsuccessful attempts to reconcile the county boss and the MCAs.

Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe's efforts to reconcile the Executive and the ward reps bore no fruit.

Gachagua has survived a previous impeachment motion by the assembly, where his Grand Nation Union party has nine MCAs against TNA’s 36.
