Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and his Marsabit counterpart Ukur Yatani are off the Senate’s hook over questions raised in a report by the Auditor-General Edward Ouko for the 2013-14 financial year.
The Senate Public Accounts Committee led by Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong’o on Friday cleared the governors saying they had produced documents to show how the monies in the Auditor General's report had been used.
"Please go and tell your colleagues to do what you have done. Tell them that what they do in the villages is not done here," said the committee's vice chairman West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo.
According to nation.co.ke, the two county bosses had appeared before the committee to answer the queries raised in the Auditor-General's report.
