A special senate sitting will be held on Wednesday to discuss the impeachment of Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua last week Friday.
This is after Senate Majority leader Kindiki Kithure wrote to speaker Ekwe Ethure asking him to recall the legislators to discuss the impeachment.
Gachagua was impeached by MCAs who accused him of gross misconduct and abuse of office as well as violating the Public Finance Management Act.
The impeachment of Gachagua has been supported by various leaders from Nyeri County who accused him of graft.
The embattled County boss has however received support from the council of governors which termed the impeachment as illegal.
On Monday Gachagua moved to court to contest his dismissal claiming that he was not given enough time to defend himself over the allegations raised by the MCAs.
