Migori County Senator Ben Oluoch Okello has condemned persons spreading fake news of his death on various social media sites.
Okello who has been ailing and was flown out to India for treatment a while back said he is back in the country and is ready to resume his duties.
The Senator said he has fully recovered, adding that those who have been spreading rumours about his death want him dead for their own selfish interests.
“I am back in the country. I want to assure residents of Migori County that I am okay. I am ready to serve Migori County residents who overwhelmingly elected me,” said the Senator as quoted by Dala FM.
He urged Migori residents to always pray for him and support him, adding that all the projects he has started in Migori must be completed in a bid to enhance economic growth in the border county.
“I thank the people of Migori County for always praying for me. I want to urge them to continue doing so,” said the former Royal Media Service (RMS) journalist.
Okello was elected the second Migori County senator in last year’s general election on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.
Before then, he was a presenter at Royal Media Services's (RMS) Ramogi FM.
