Uasin Gishu Senator Isaac Melly has asked residents to attend public budget forums to give their suggestions before the county assembly passes the budgetary allocations for 2015-2016.
Speaking to news reporters at the county offices in Eldoret on Tuesday, Melly said the public has been given opportunity to share their views on the proposed budget.
He said that the county will be conducting public forums across the county.
“I want to ask members of the public to attend budget forums taking place this week, so theat they can voice their suggestions,” he said.
Senator Melly stated that the county budget committee will consider the views of the public passing the budgetary allocations, noting that the public has an important role to play when it comes to financial and other development aspects.
“The constitution has given you (the public) channels to voice your issues, and adding your voice to the budgetary allocation debate is important,” added Melly.
The senator on the same note urged the Uasin Gishu government to engage the public on other development issues, adding that the public in county activities will enhance realization of development goals.
Senator Melly also urged Uasin Gishu residents to feel free and demand for service provision.
