Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has urged Ukambani leaders to unite and work together in honour of the late Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze.Speaking during the burial of the late MP at his Kyondoni home in Kitui County on Tuesday, Mutula Junior said that it was the wish of the late legislator to see Ukambani unite.Mutula Junior said Nyenze devoted his time pushing for unity and the welfare of the Kamba people.The Makueni Senator said it will be an honour to the late lawmaker if leaders in the region bury their differences.He observed that political blackmail, mistrust, and suspicion has denied Ukambani region a chance to actively participate in national politics.“We must now work together and fulfill the desire the late Francis Nyenze had for the Ukambani region,” the Makueni Senator said.The Senator stated that Ukambani region will rise to political stardom only if its leaders bury their differences.He said that the region has some of the most respected leaders but its disunity has made the community to be used as a rubber stamp.Mutula Junior asked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to use his diplomatic experience to spearhead unity talks among leaders in the region.Nyenze was buried at his rural home in Kitui West on Tuesday. The late MP died two weeks ago after a long battle with colon cancer.Top leaders among them NASA chief Raila Odinga attended the burial.Kalonzo, however, did not attend the event after his plane from Germany got delayed.
