Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has backed NASA leader Raila Odinga’s call for formation of a six month interim government.

Mutula junior says that for equality, fairness and electoral justice to be realized in the country, there is urgent need for an interim government.

Speaking during an interview on KTN News on Friday, the senator said that Raila’s call for interim government is in order.

He stated that the interim government will take charge of government affairs as stakeholders push for constitutional reforms.

The Makueni senator said the country is divided on tribal lines because of electoral injustices committed in the October 26 presidential repeat poll.

He asked Jubilee politicians  to stop chest thumping and support NASA’s push for fresh credible presidential election in 90 days.

He claimed that Uhuru’s re-election in the October 26 repeat poll could be nullified by the Supreme Court since it was allegedly not free, fair and credible.

“The call for an interim government is a wise and will ensure proper review on some constitutional clauses are made for electoral fairness and justice,” he said during the interview.

The Makueni senatorial lawmaker at the same time rubbished Jubilee politician’s interpretation that Raila’s call for interim government equals to ‘Nusu Mkate’ government.

Mutula Junior explained that NASA is not for a coalition government but for electoral justice and fairness.

Raila has been under attacks after he was quoted by Reuters calling for formation of a six month interim government to allow for constitutional review.

Jubilee politicians now claims that the NASA leader now wants formation of a coalition government with president elect Uhuru Kenyatta.
