Speaking to journalists at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Tuesday, Haji said that terror remains a serious threat to development in Northern Kenya.

He noted that security agencies need to review and evaluate their strategies to combat terrorists who are devising new ways of attacks every day.

The former defense Minister while condemning last week's attack on Qarsi School in Wajir, urged the government to engage residents in fight against terrorism.

“The security agencies must now devise new methods of combating terrorists and guarantee our people security,” he said.

Haji also asked residents to collaborate with security agencies by volunteering information.

He said that terror elements are within the people adding that the only way to tame terrorists is by exposing their evil deeds.

The jubilee senator also asked local leaders to play their role and sensitize the people on the need for community policing.
