Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to withdraw the Kenyan Defence Forces currently fighting Alshabaab in Somalia.
Speaking on Saturday during an Opposition rally in Bomet, the Ford Kenya Party leader questioned Kenya's strategic interest in the war torn Somalia, observing that the country is losing so many forces "with no apparent reason."
"We continue to see our forces being attacked and our sons losing their lives in wars that we are not part of, it is time that the Jubilee government worked towards having our forces brought back home," the Star quoted the legislator.
Wetang'ula's remarks comes in the wake of yet another attack by Alshabaab on a Kenyan military camp in Kulbiyow, where about nine soldiers lost their lives according to the government.
However, according to Reuters reports, Kenya lost about 57 soldiers, reports that Kenyan authorities have moved to dispell.
