Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe has called on road users to exercise caution during this festive season.
Speaking on Sunday during a church service at Karindundu PCEA Church in Karatina, Mutahi urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules, further urging the clergy to pray for the country and its leadership.
“We need to pray for our country to be free of similar terrible incidents, as we also pray for better leadership of the country,” he said.
Senator Mutahi's call comes just a day after a grisly road accident claimed at least 39 lives along the Naivasha - Nakuru Highway on Saturday night.
The legislator used the opportunity to extend his sympathies to the families of the victims involved in the Naivasha accident.
“It is a sad day for the country today and I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their love ones to the tragic accidents," he said.
