Bomet senator Wilfred Lesan has asked the 'sacked’ Bomet Deputy governor Stephen Mutai not to be shaken by Governor Isaac Ruto’s actions against him.
Lesan said Mutai was the legitimate office holder unless removed through the right channel he continues to remain as the deputy governor.
"What the governor did is totally illegitimate...the only way a deputy governor can be removed from office is if he/she is incapacitated or through an impeachment otherwise orders by the governor replacing his Mutai and asking him to surrender the property in his possession are illegitimate," he said.
Lesan at the same asked the 'new' deputy governor not to be duped or mislead into signing any document on purportedly as the county deputy governor saying he will personally be held accountable.
Governor Ruto dismissed his deputy for allegedly absconding duty for two years.
