Nyamira County Senator Kennedy Okong'o has condemned the county procurement department over its graft allegations.
"How can this department cancel a tender and also re-advertise the same tender in a newspaper that is widely read," said Mongare.
The county, through public works department advertised construction tenders worth Sh300m, but it cancelled the tender, only for the tender to be re-advertised the following day on the Daily People.
"According to the law, you have to advertise the tenders in National newspapers and it has to take 14 days before tender submission," he added.
He continued to say that the whole procurement department is corrupt, and the ministry of public works at large, and vowed to take action against corrupt leaders.
"I as the senator of Nyamira and as the oversee of the county expenditures, I can't sit and watch corruption flourish and our genuine contracts not given job's. I swear to deal with them seriously," he said.
He was saying this when addressing believers at Kenyenya Adventist church in West Mogirango, Nyamira County on Saturday.
