Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has condemned last weekends's killings of three people belonging to Utheri Wa Lari Society in Suswa, Mai-Mahiu.
Speaking to journalist in Kiambu on Monday, Wamatangi called for a firm legal action to be taken against the perpetrators of the heinous act, saying that every Kenyan has a right to own land anywhere in the country.
“The action was backward and repugnant and should not be allowed to happen again,” said Wamatangi.
“I am asking the relevant authorities to arrest and prosecute all those who were involved in those killings. Any Kenyan can own land or other properties anywhere in Kenya,” added Wamatangi.
The Senator also promised to work jointly with other Kiambu leaders to ensure that the group gets justice.
“I want to assure the group that other leaders and I are going to follow the matter till we find the truth. One cannot buy land and also get a title deed and then the land is just taken away like that even without compensation,” he added.
