In a statement released through his Chief of Staff Joseph Omondi, the Senator noted that the issues are wide, ranging from unresolved Land Disputes and Injustices leading to contention over land between protagonist Communities and individuals.

The Senator singled out Ng'ati farmers cooperative society in (Maela Naivasha), which is embroiled in leadership wrangles with some members calling for election for the office bearers.

He said that despite the County Assembly Justice and legal affairs Committee noting that the society's officials have been in office for more than two decades, Ng’ati problems have been worsened by external interference by the provincial Administration.

“Members of the society should be given a chance to hold free and fair elections under the direction of the cooperative officer without interference from any quarter,” said Mungai.

On the recent attacks in Witemere Farm in Gilgil on Tuesday Night, Mungai wondered how over 50 men can sit, plan and execute such a heinous act without the relevant authorities being aware.

“This definitely shows lack of commitment and seriousness on security issues by the Local Administration,” added Mungai.

He called upon the County and sub-county security team to immediately embark on addressing the differences between the two communities who are feuding.

As long term measures to solving the issue, the Land Department and the district Lands registrar should carry out investigations on land irregularities surrounding Delamere Farm, Hajjii and Ndoiga Farms in Subukia.
