Taita Taveta Senator Dan Mwazo has defended his decision to ditch Opposition party ODM for Jubilee.

Mwazo, who is also gunning for the county's gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee Party ticket noted that he had no regrets for joining the ruling party.

Speaking to journalists in Voi, the lawmaker further exuded confidence that his defection will not negatively impact his bid.

“Parties are like vehicles which are just means of transport. What is important is what you will do on reaching your destination. I am the same Mwazo who delivered many projects when I was Voi MP,” he said.

Mwazo pledged to prioritize education should he clinch the county's top seat during the forthcoming polls.

“My government will be keen to improve the county’s education and that is why we want many children to benefit from the bursary kitty," he said.
