Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has revealed that NASA’s decision to postpone the swearing-in of its leader Raila Odinga is one of the alliance’s many political strategies.
The event was dated for Tuesday, December 12, but has since been moved to a date yet to be communicated to the nation, with Kina, who was reacting to comments from Kenyans on social media Sunday, saying that all is not lost.
‘’KOT (Kenyans On Twitter) are bitter. They want Raila to be sworn in. But I have this for you. When you are surrounded by lions, pretend to be dead. Akili Kichwani,’’ he said in a tweet.
While delivering the message in a press conference Sunday, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi further revealed that the controversial event was set to be held in the coastal city of Mombasa.
‘’Following internal consultations, NASA advises the NASA fraternity that the swearing-in of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka has been postponed. We wish to thank Mombasa for accepting to host the event,’’ said the former Deputy Prime Minister.
The decision was preceded by calls from both within and the international community, calling upon the opposition to revise the move, with the US government urging it to instead engage the ruling Jubilee Party in a bid to iron out its dissatisfaction.
