Led by former leader of majority Beuttah Omanga at Gesima Market yesterday, the leaders were unanimous that fierce rivalry between the leaders has hampered development projects in the area despite other counties making tremendous progress from devolution.

“Our senator and governor ought to dialogue and iron out their ideological or personal differences. If they will not do it, we will be compelled to use other legitimate means to solve the impasse for the benefit of electorate”, Omanga said.

He urged the two leaders to give development first priority and desist from politicising constructive development.

“It’s unfortunate and regrettable that people can mix their constitutional obligation with their personal problems”, added Omanga.

Kennedy Nyameino of Gesima ward noted that intrigues between the two leaders have persisted even after several attempts to reconcile them.

“How many times will we beg you to work together? We will explore other valid means to oust you if you do not comply to our humble request,” Nyameino said.

Nyameino said many projects have stalled even after approval from the county assembly due to dissatisfaction from the area senator who has constantly alleged grand corruption in awarding of tenders and threatened at times to collect signatures for governor’s removal.

The two county bosses have endured strained relationship since March 4 elections with the senator accusing Nyagarama of nepotism, corruption and opaqueness in transaction of county businesses besides engaging in public squabbles.
