The law banning politicians from participating in fundraisers until after the 2017 elections has continued to draw criticism especially from people calling for its review.
Nyamira Senator Kennedy Mong'are has added his voice to the ban saying the law is being used by greedy people who don't want to assist the poor and their electorate respectively.
Speaking when he opened a library under his initiative at Kenyenya in West Mugirango constituency, the Senator said he has many books lying in his stores and he had planned to donate them to several libraries he is opening across the county in the next two months.
"How can greedy people hinder us from giving to the community; We have vulnerable children, churches and community matters we are assisting through harambees, the law must be reviewed," said Mong'are.
He said the government has not put measures in place to assist it's people fully through its annual budget so as to ban harambees.
"If they ban harambees, then they should elect a budget which provides fully to all Kenyans in need," said Mong'are.
