A public hearing on gross misconduct allegations levelled against The National Alliance (TNA) Nominated Senator Joy Gwendo is set to be held in Kisumu on Friday.

Gwendo is expected to appear before the party’s Kisumu County branch offices where she will answer to charges levelled against her to the disciplinary committee.

She had been summoned by the TNA county branch a month ago and the officials threatened to strip her off his nomination for failure to use her position to push the party agenda in the region.

The hearing will start at 10am so that the judgement can be done by evening, according to the party's coordinator Juma Midigo.

TNA Kisumu branch had written to Gwendo notifying her of expulsion from the party too, accusing her of working with rival coalition parties.

Midigo indicated that the senator has been summoned by the office on several occasions over her conduct, but deliberations have not borne fruits.

They have on many occasions accused the nominated Senator of neglecting the party and instead working with the opponents.

The officials had resorted to send Gwendo away and were set to look for the best replacement to be presented to the party for nominations.

Gwendo has however maintained that she was nominated by the national office and therefore cannot be expelled by the county branch office.
