Recently, news broke that a female Senator had had an altercation with her secretary that almost degenerated into a fight.
The story spread like bush fire and within no minute, just as the norm, Kenyans were on social media bashing politicians for their unending drama.
But who was the Senator? It was Joy Gwendo, a senator nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta's The National Alliance party.
But who exactly is this lady who chose to make news for the 'wrong reason'?
Ms Gwendo is among the youngest senators in Kenya having been nominated to the Senate at the age of 33.
Being young, she is among politicians who, without shame, enjoy their social life- going out partying- once in a while.
Maybe the only incident you remember about her is when she was caught on camera engaging her secretary in the verbal altercation.
She is also one of the politicians active on social media. Her Facebook page has over 12,000 likes and keeps on growing by the day.
She is always active online and has a page called 'Wananchi' through which she uses to communicate to her electorate in Kisumu.
On Facebook, she portrays the character of a strong woman who takes negative criticism positively whenever people scold her for her past mistakes.
She accepts that she has failed in the past and she is not perfect.
She uses Facebook, mainly, to share words of inspiration and encouragement.
The mother of one is an old girl of Lwak Girls High School. Prior to joining politics, she worked at Royal Media Services as a creative assistant.
She is a holder of a Bachelor of Library Science degree from the University of Nairobi.
Besides, she is a celebrated author having overseen the translation of the English dictionary to Tholuo.
She is a Jubilee die-hard and is expected to challenge Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir in 2017.
