Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji and his nominated counterpart Isaac Mwaura differed over the liveliness of Senate and National Assembly.
According to a local daily, Mwaura feels the Senate is very boring compared to the National Assembly, claims Haji was dismissed.
Haji said that Mwaura is finding the House boring because he is used to ‘noisemaking in parliament’. Mwaura, who defected from ODM, said that he hopes future debates will be livelier.
“This House has been accused of being very boring in the debate. I hope our debates will be robust,’ he said, as quoted by the Local Daily.
In the meantime, leaders of the National Super Alliance (NASA) and Jubilee have continued to differ over various issues in the both houses following the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win.
The leaders of the opposition had threatened to boycott Parliamentary sittings but they have been making technical appearances to protect their posts.
Both sides have vowed to drum up support for their presidential candidates, President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga ahead of the fresh elections. This comes after Chief David Maraga nullified the election and asked IEBC to conduct another exercise.
