Haji says that the petition filed against him does not hold any waters, adding that he won re-election fairly.

The Jubilee senator claimed that the three voters are being used to ‘soil’ his name.

Senator Haji   said that he will not be shaken by the petition and urged his supporters to be calm.

“There is nothing to fear about because the petition filed by the three voters is baseless and will be thrown out by the court,” he said as quoted by KTN News.

Senator Haji said that some of his rivals are afraid of facing the reality and want to drag him to court cases.

The senator said that he will respond to the petition once he is served by the petitioners.

Three Garissa voters, Hussein Issa Abdi, Abdikadir Farah Mohamed and Mohamed Aden Abdi want Haji’s re-election nullified.

The three Garissa voters claim that the senatorial election was marred with massive malpractices.

The voters who filed the petition at the Milimani law courts in Nairobi on Thursday, allege that there was massive irregularities sin Balambala, Ijara and Garissa Township constituencies.

Haji is among Garissa politicians whose election or re-election has been contested in court.

Former governor Nathif Jama has petitioned the election of Ali Bunow Korane while former National Assembly deputy speaker Farah Maalim is challenging the re-election of Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.
