Haji says that Korane has vast experience in management and is the right person to steer the county towards economic prosperity if elected governor.

In an interview with the Star, the Garissa senator said he has worked with Korane in the past and that the former PS is a performer.

Haji said that Garissa needs a governor who will be able to articulate and address issues facing locals.

“I think Korane can perform better than governor Jama and locals should consider endorsing his gubernatorial bid on August 8,” he said.

Haji said that Garissa residents have not fully enjoyed devolution in the last four years.

The former Defense Minister claimed that access to clean water remain a serious challenge for residents.

Haji also cited unemployment and poor road networks as sectors where governor Jama’s administration has failed.

The Garissa senator asked residents to make choices that they will not regret later.

Governor Jama has been under criticism with a section of politicians claiming that he has not performed to contest for re-election.

The governor is seeking re-election on Wiper ticket and has vowed to defeat his rivals.

Jama is facing stiff competition from Korane who is vying on Jubilee party ticket.

Bashir Haji, a former military general is also in the Garissa gubernatorial race vying on Amani national Congress (ANC) party.
