Garissa senator and former Defense Minister Yusuf Haji has expressed shock over the untimely death of Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, saying he will be irreplaceable.
According to Haji, Nkaissery was a dedicated army and public servant who put the interests of the country fast.
He said that Nkaissery's demise is a blow to the country’s security apparatus, adding that the former Kajiado Central MP had reformed the security sector and guarantee Kenyans safety.
“I worked with Nkaissery and he was dedicated and committed to serving the country,” Haji said as quoted by the Daily Nation.
Nkaissery’s untimely death has shocked the country with leaders and Kenyans eulogizing him as a hardworking public servant.
According to media reports, Nkaissery died on Friday night at the Karen hospital where he had been rushed after allegedly developing chest problems.
His body has since been taken to Lee Funeral Home with the government and the late CS family expected to give official information on what led to his sudden death.
Education CS Feed Matiang’i has since been appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to take over the Interior Ministry in an acting capacity.
