Speaking to journalists  in Garissa Town on Tuesday, Haji said that Garissa and the larger Northern Kenya is secure for businesses and investments.

He  stated  that the region is no longer prone to terror and criminal attacks and that investors should have confidence and partner with county governments.

The senator said that it is only through local and foreign investments that will see the region fight poverty.

“We are appealing to local and foreign investors to set up industries in Garissa and other counties in North Eastern and help us alleviate poverty and create employment to many unemployed youths," he said on Monday.

Senator Haji asked governors in North Kenya to give incentives as a way of attracting investments.

The Garissa senator said that investments  will create job opportunities and improve the living standards of the people.

The Jubilee senator  revealed  that he is pushing for more national budget allocation to Garissa county government.

Haji noted that the current allocation to the county  is not sufficient to address development issues in the county.

Meanwhile, Haji wants county governments in the region to prioritize on development projects that will directly benefit the common people.
