Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji has defended Jubilee government against criticism for deporting controversial Canadian based lawyer Miguna Miguna.

Haji says that the government was right in deporting Miguna for the second time for failing to cooperate with Immigration officials during his Monday return.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Saturday, the Jubilee senator said that Miguna is to blame for the the troubles facing him.

He said that the self declared NRM leader would be in the country now should he have produced his travel documents upon landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Monday last week."

"Miguna should stop complaining because he himself created the troubles facing him now," the Jubilee senator said.

Haji also slammed Miguna's lawyer's accusing them of misleading the Canadian based lawyer.

The Jubilee senator said that it is mandatory for any traveling person to produce his or her travel documents upon landing at any Airport across the the world.

The senator accused Miguna of trying to create cheap publicity and sympathy.

He said that Miguna should cooperate with the government if he wants to return into the country or forget if he remains rebellious and defiant.

Miguna was deported for a second time to Dubai on Wednesday night, two days after jetting into the country from Canada where he had been deported earlier.

He had arrived into the country on Monday afternoon but was denied entry after refusing to produce his travel documents.

The government declared him undocumented passenger and deported him to Dubai.

The self declared NRM leader is now stranded in Dubai after receiving treatment on arrival.

Miguna claims that he was assaulted and sedated before being deported on Wednesday.

On Thursday last week, High Court Judge George Odunga fined Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Immigration Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa Sh200,000 each for disobeying court orders to release Miguna and produce him in court.
