Following the decision by Political Parties Dispute Tribunal to sanction Jubilee party to conduct governorship elections in Kisii County, party officials used a rather strange voting system.

While there was no polling stations used for exercise, Jubilee party has since declared Chris Obure, a former ODM member a winner by garnering over 200,000 votes and will now face governor James Ongwae of ODM.

Obure was set to face Jubilee Kisii branch Secretary and former mayor Sam Nyangeso, who had appealed against the party’s decision to issue Obure with a direct ticket.

“There were no elections at all and we here that someone has won with a wider margin. This is hypocrisy of the highest degree,” said Nyangeso.

He added: “Few individuals went to Obure’s house, got a few coins and were ordered to mark thousands of ballot papers.”

Allegedly, Obure paid a section of youths Sh1000 and ordered them to mark ballot papers in his house and was later on announcement the winner.

Until going to press, Obure, who has been very critical on NASA team, would not be reached for immediate reaction.
