The office of Migori Senator Ben Oluoch has clarified that the senator is still alive.

Oluoch's office manager Richard Sollo on Sunday said the senator is still receiving treatment in India.

The statement after rumours surfaced indicating that the lawmaker had passed away.

Speaking earlier this year, Mr Oluoch said he would take legal action on peddlers of the rumour.

"And it is bad that these people are using pseudo accounts in order to disguise their identity. They must respect feelings of our family members, relatives and friends. My doctors have declared that I can now resume my duties as a Senator," said the senator during a breakfast show on Mayienga Fm.
