Mr Orengo dispelled rumours peddled in some media outlets that Otiende was in danger and in a crisis.

Addressing the press outside a hospital where the legislator was taken in in Kisumu, Orengo said that it was a question of exhaustion and dehydration, saying that he would be discharged soon.

''I want to report to you that it is a question of exhaustion and dehydration. And when we were in in the hospital he's stable and there is no cause for alarm and I think very shortly he will be out of here. So we don't want anyone spreading any rumour that we have a crisis in our hands... We don't want the media speaking as if we have a crisis,'' Senator Orengo said.

There has been a lot of speculation about the Rarieda's MP condition and Orengo's update will go a long way in quelling that speculation.

Mr Otiende Omollo is a respected lawyer and is known all over the country.
