West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo has exuded confidence that former ruling party KANU will trounce Jubilee Party in key elective seats in the Rift Valley region in the next general elections.
In a telephone interview with the Star on Thursday, the legislator claimed that the Jubilee Party has lost political ground in the vote-rich region, citing unfulfilled pre-election promises by the Jubilee administration during the 2013 general elections.
“We shall leave no room for Jubilee leaders in this region,” he said.
“We will make sure all Jubilee leaders are out oftheir seats by 10 am in order to bring changeand sanity back to the Rift Valley,” he added.
The legislator further accused Jubilee Party's top leadership of politically intimidating KANU Party leader and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
The Senator looks to unseat Jubilee governor SimonKachapin on a Kanu Party ticket.
