A Jubilee lawmaker has expressed confidence in the party winning several seats in the Coast region come August 8.
Speaking in Mombasa during a voter registration sensitisation campaign, Nominated Senator Beth Mugo said the government's development record has transformed the region from an opposition to a Jubilee zone.She said Jubilee will get a good share of the votes in the August polls owing to its good developmnent record in the region."I can confidently say that Jubilee has gained momentum. Coast is no longer a Cord zone. We will share the votes equally," she said.The Jubilee Party has of late shown insatiable appetite to make inroads in the region that overwhelmingly voted for Raila Odinga in 2013, with a good number of politicians switching their allegiance to the Uhuru-led party.Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro set the defection wave into motion after falling out with ODM leaders in the region, who accused him of not being loyal to the party and its leader Raila Odinga.
Mung'aro who will challenge Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi in the governor race has been a staunch defender of the government's development record in the region.
