Machakos Senator Boniface Kabaka's August 8 elections victory has been upheld.
A petition challenging Kabaka's election was on Friday dismissed by the High Court sitting in Machakos and the petitioner Jackson Musyoka Kalla ordered to bear the Sh2million costs.
Delivering the judgment Justice David Kimei noted that the petitioner had failed to prove his case to the court beyond reasonable doubt.
Addressing the press shortly after the ruling, Kabaka urged the electorates to join hands for the betterment of the County.
Kabaka promised to work with every leader elected or not to serve Machakos residents.
“The court has proved that I won on 8th August and now I have the go-ahead to serve my people", Kabaka said.
The judgement of a petition filed by Wavinya Ndeti contesting the election of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua will be delivered on February 9,2018 by Justice Aggrey Muchelule.
The petition filed by Wiper gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti came to an end on Monday after all the parties made their final oral submissions before Justice Aggrey Muchelule.
