This comes after she was elected the first Vice-President of  Bureau of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, Geneva, Switzerland. 

Kihika took on his Facebook account to share the news.

"Greatly humbled & honored to have been elected as the First Vice President of the Bureau of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians at the ongoing 138th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland," she posted.

Kihika disclosed of having lengthy and  active debates on Gender Mainstreaming, Sustaining Peace as a vehicle for achieving sustainable development and engaging the private sector in implementing the SDGs, especially in renewable energy all from a gender perspective.

The Forum of Women Parliamentarians  meets during our twice-yearly assemblies to address gender equality issues and to contribute to the decisions made by its membership.

It was established  in 1990, as  it was the first permanent structure created within Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU ).

It is involved in driving forward work on gender equality and women’s issues. 

The Bureau is elected by the Forum of Women Parliamentarians. 

It is made up of women from all six of geo-political groups. 

It has a President and two Vice-Presidents.
