Kilonzo said the leaders should refrain from their ongoing blame-games and instead revisit the issue.

He said the inability by Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) to attend the swearing in might have been as a result of the confusion that surrounded the controversial event.

With several reasons being given as a result of the trio's snub of the Uhuru Park's event, including an allegation that Raila advised the trio to wait for his notification only to turn up for the occasion alone.

Kilonzo said the excuses do not justify the leader's let-down to supporters.

''It should have been good for all the co-principals to appear for the inauguration as they had promised their supporters and are to be collectively blamed for failing to keep the promise,'' he said on Radio Citizen on Wednesday.

''They should have taken it upon themselves to ensure that the event runs smoothly. Now they have an awaiting uphill task to convince Kenyans, who feel very much disappointed, into forgiving them for not coordinating the event well,'' Kilonzo said.

The trio has further claimed that they could not make it to the park for fear of their safety after their security details were withdrawn by the state.

Raila, however, went ahead to take the oath in the presence of thousands of NASA supporters from across the country.
