Senate Majority leader, Kindiki Kithure, has urged the residents of Central Kenya to prepare to support his 2022 presidential bid after the end of President Uhuru Kenyatta's term.
Kindiki said that the people of Mt Kenya East have supported and voted in all the four presidents that have served Kenya since independence, and thus it is now time for other regions particularly Central Kenya to support his bid.
Speaking in Maara after launching the tarmacking of 23 kilometer Chogoria – Weru – Kiriani road, the legislator said that he is seeking to defend his Tharaka/Nithi Senatorial seat, after which he will not seek an elective seat at the county level.
He told the residents to allow him to join national politics after 2017 to traverse all the counties of the republic seeking support for the presidential seat.
“We have had four presidents in this republic, and I want to tell the people of Kiambu and the larger central Kenya to prepare to support a leader from the Mt Kenya East region, we cannot be voting for people who are not voting for us,” he said.
