Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga to act on their quest and pledge to unite the country.
Wambua said the two leaders are wasting time talking and making pledges instead of going to the ground to unite Kenyans.
He said that talks and speeches will not help much in uniting the country, and instead asked the duo to traverse the country and preach unity.
"Kenyans want to see these leaders on the ground preaching reconciliation and not giving speeches and talks," he said.
Wambua said that time is running out quickly and that Uhuru and Raila's mission might fail if they continue delaying.
"With the 2022 succession politics on top gear, the country might not unite as politicians are already campaigning on tribal lines," he added.
Wambua also called on Uhuru and Raila to include all Kenyans in the unity pledge. He said that inclusivity will make their agenda easy even as the country heads to the 2022 general election.
Pressure has been mounting on Uhuru and Rail to expedite their unity push after the two leaders met on March 9, 2018, and agreed to reconcile the country.
On Wednesday, during his joint parliamentary address, President Kenyatta pledged to unite the nation.
He asked for forgiveness from Kenyans following last year's divisive general election.
