Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has finally broken his silence over who he supports between Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi ahead of the 2022 general elections.
This follows speculations that the MP who has been branded as a 'rebel' in the Jubilee party was leaning towards the Baringo Senator.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Monday, Tiren said the 2022 presidential race should be left open for anyone so as to allow Kenyans to pick their preferred candidate.
"Kenyans are nowadays informed and they have the potential to chose a leader in their own. I have always been of the view that the presidential race should be open to anyone and everyone," he said.
The two-time legislator insisted that "when that time comes, DP Ruto and Baringo Senator should come and tell us what they have done."
He further hit out at DP Ruto for failing to help farmers especially at this time that they have been up in arms over delays in the release of funds for the maize supplied to the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).
"The Deputy President should have helped farmers to prove that he can lead the country. He was also in Agriculture ministry and he understands the plight of farmers," said Tiren.
