Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has called on Kenyans to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid during the forthcoming general elections.
The lawmaker made the remarks on Sunday during a church service in Kiambu County.
The Kanu Party leader further defended the outfit's decision to back President Kenyatta for re-election, arguing that the Head of State means well for the country.
“We in Kanu decided to back President Uhuru because we want to give him a chance to build his legacy and positively change the lives of Kenyans. He means well; let us give him our votes,” he noted.
He challenged the locals to turn up in their numbers to verify their voter details, noting that every vote shall count during the August polls.
“Every vote is very important. Verify so that you can exercise your constitutional right to vote and decide your future,” he said.
President Kenyatta is facing stiff competition from a re-energized Opposition as he seeks to recapture the country's top seat.
He will be battling it out with NASA presidential candidate and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
