A section of parents from Gesima ward in Kitutu Masaba Constituency have condemned Nyamira County Senator Kennedy Mongare over his remarks regarding the changes made by education CS in aid of ending cheating in examinations.
Okongo who on Thursday accused the CS of making the changes without consulting other stakeholders now faces parents who have accused him of picking a fight with the education CS.
Charles Onsare, one of the parents who spoke to this writer on Friday said the CS is only interested in fighting cheating and other examination irregularities and should be given full backing.
“The CS has done nothign wrong, he is only fighiting exam cheating in our schools, so we are in support since we don’t what to have constant fear about cheating in our schools which affects our children,” said Onsare.
Timothy Barongo, another parent said that before the senator criticizes the CS, he should understand how cheating has been affecting parents and students in the past.
On Thursday, the senator said that the Cabinet Secretary did not consult stakeholders before making the changes and vowed to take the motion to the senate.
