Speaking on Monday at his Nakuru office, senator Mungai attributed the claims by the vocal MP as lack of knowledge on the roles of senators.

"You don't expect to see the senator launching key county projects. His work is to oversee that the projects tendered are assigned to the right people and look at the cost there in to see if there was probability of misuse of funds. That's why you see governors being summoned by the senators to explain the usage of funds. I have not been absent to undertake my roles," said the senator.

On Monday, the MP said the senator has been conspicuously absent from key county meetings including visits by President Kenyatta. He further claimed that other senators have also lamented MUngai's absenteeism in the senate.
