Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has urged Kenyans to remain calm and peaceful ahead of tomorrow's general election.
Addressing worshippers at African Inland Church (AIC) in Tala, Matungulu Sub County on Sunday, Muthama also called for tolerance among the political class across the divide.
He said that the Tuesday polls is not a matter of life and death and that Kenyans and politicians must exercise humility and tolerate each other.
Muthama stated that tomorrow’s general election will come and go, adding that the country’s peace and unity is what matters most.
“My appeal if to Kenyans and politicians across the divide to embrace unity and peace as we prepare for Tuesday’s general election,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
Muthama at the same time called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to stand out to the occasion and deliver credible polls.
He said that Kenyans are expecting free fair and transparent general elections tomorrow.
The Machakos senator said that IEBC is being watched across the globe, adding that any form of mischief will not be condoned.
Kenyans are expected to cast their votes in tomorrow’s general election with the IEBC saying that it is set for the polls.
Leaders across the divide including the clergy have appealed to eligible Kenyan voters to come out in masses to vote and exercise peace and unity as they cast their vote.
