According to the lawmaker, the government is taking illegal stunts by not paying the doctors for the 100 days they were on strike. “The return to work formula stated that no doctor would be victimized regardless,” said Kilonzo While speaking in Kilome during a sendoff ceremony of six relatives who perished in a car crash in Manyani along Mombasa-Nairobi Highway a week ago. Kilonzo’s sentiments come a week after a directive by health Principal Secretary Nicholas Muraguri instructing County Governors not to pay doctors for the 100 days they were on strike. The council of governors chairman Peter Munya endorsed the directive saying that the governors will not pay the doctors for the days they were not on duty.Kilonzo Jnr, who was part of the legal team that represented the doctors, said they would be seeking declaratory orders against Muraguri and his boss Cleopa Mailu before a court of law.Kilonzo said Muraguri had no capacity to instruct governors not to pay the doctors for the 100 days they were on strike.
